  Hurricane Ike

Recovery Information

To register for FEMA assistance call 1-800-621-FEMA or visit http://www.fema.gov/assistance/

At the request of the State of Texas , the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has extended the deadline for homeowners, renters and business owners who suffered damages from Hurricane Ike to register for state and federal disaster assistance. The new deadline is Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009. See the FEMA press release for details.

Home Repairs

If your home suffered more than 50% damage you must call the City to schedule an assessment prior to repairing your home. Any roof repair requires a permit and must be signed off by a state certified windstorm inspector.

State of Emergency

A state of emergency existed in the City of Dickinson from Thursday September 11, 2008 at 7:00 a.m. when Mayor Julie Masters ordered the mandatory evacuation of low lying areas of the city until Thursday September 18, 2008 8:30 A.M. when the boil water notice was lifted.

 

Debris Pick-Up Nearing Completion

 

The City of Dickinson is in its final stages of Debris pick up for Hurricane Ike. All debris must be placed next to the roadway by October 15th, 2008. The last day of pick is October 26th 2008.

City offices will close at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, November 26, and will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28, in observance of Thanksgiving.

City offices will close at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, December 24, and will be closed on Thursday and Friday, December 25 and 26, in observance of Christmas.

City offices will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2009, in observance of New Year’s Day.

Exit 19 off I-45, then east on FM 517 East for16 blocks. City hall is located on the northwest corner of FM 517 East and Yupon Drive.  The main entrance faces Yupon.
