It can be a daunting task for citizens with hearing impairments to obtain hurricane planning information. Fortunately there is a web site that offers emergency preparedness tips in multiple formats. The state of Texas Division of Emergency Management, through a partnership with Deaf LinkŪ, has posted videos presented in American Sign Language (ASL) with an accompanying voice-over on a number of hurricane planning topics. These topics include evacuation planning, emergency supplies, the 2-1-1 registry for special needs, and preparing your home before the storm. Text versions also are available for download.
