Skywarn Training PDF Print E-mail

Skywarn is a program sponsored by the National Weather Service Office in conjunction with Emergency Management.  It is a group of trained volunteers that watch the skies during severe weather and relay reports back to the local Emergency Management Office and/or the National Weather Service.  These volunteers provide valuable information to the NWS to improve the warning program which could save lives and prevent property damage in your community.

The Houston/Galveston National Weather Service will be conducting two Skywarn training sessions hosted by the Galveston County Office of Emergency Management.  Both of these sessions will be on March 9, 2009.  These training sessions will be at 9:00 AM-12:00 PM and another class available at 6:30-9:00 PM.
