Galveston County businesses and non-profit organizations are invited to participate in a survey designed to gauge the region’s level of emergency preparedness.

The survey, formally titled the “Private Sector Survey of Preparedness and Continuity Practices,” was developed by the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with George Washington University.

Survey details from Galveston County and other participating counties across the nation will be compiled in the fall of 2008 to help gain a better understanding of how businesses and agencies perceive their level of preparations for hurricanes, floods, terrorist attacks and other potential business interruptions.

All company and industry information will remain confidential. You will not be asked to provide your name or identify your company or organization during the online survey, which takes about 15 minutes to complete.

By participating in the survey, you will help Galveston County officials gain a better understanding of where preparedness training, grant funding and community education should be directed to assist local businesses and organizations.

To take the survey, follow this link. NOTE: Only one representative from your organization should complete the survey.
