The FEMA/State Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at the Mall of the Mainland in Texas City is changing its hours of operation.
Starting December 1st, the DRC will be open from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Saturday, closed Sundays. The center is located in Suite 1318 of the Mall of the Mainland, 10000 Emmett F. Lowery Expressway, Texas City, 77591.
Residents are encouraged to register with FEMA before visiting a center. There are two ways to register: log on to www.fema.gov or call FEMA's toll free number, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for the speech- and hearing-impaired. Both numbers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until further notice.
At the Disaster Recovery Center, visitors can:
- Receive information about different types of state and federal disaster assistance.
- Get help completing applications for U.S. Small Business Administration low-interest disaster loans (SBA for homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes and private non-profit organizations.
- Inquire about the status of applications for federal assistance.
- Receive referrals to voluntary organizations to help with immediate unmet needs.
- Learn cost-effective mitigation measures to reduce the impact of future disaster events.
