Governor Perry notified Galveston County that it has been named a contiguous disaster county by the Secretary of Agriculture.  This makes farm operators eligible for low-interest emergency loans from the Farm Service Agency (FSA).

The Secretary of Agriculture has notified the Administration of the Farm Service Agency (FSA) to immediately make emergency loans available to eligible applicants in Galveston County.  Emergency (EM) loan applications will be received through July 13, 2009 for production and physical losses.  If you have any questions, please contact the Farm Service Agency at (979) 865-3138.
