Galveston County Hosts Public Meetings on Ike Recovery PDF Print E-mail

Representatives from Galveston County will host four public meetings next week to familiarize residents of the unincorporated areas with various Hurricane Ike recovery programs.

The meetings will provide an opportunity for citizens to learn about the ongoing efforts of many groups and organizations dedicated to assisting residents with unmet needs from the hurricane, which devastated portions of Galveston County September 12-13, 2008.

Grant programs that can assist with potential buyouts or elevations of substantially damaged structures will be discussed, as well as programs to assist with home repairs, debris removal and other Ike-related needs.

The meetings are specifically for residents of unincorporated Galveston County and are scheduled at the following locations and times:

 

MONDAY, Feb. 2nd, 5 PM

Bacliff Community Center

TUESDAY, Feb. 3rd, 5 PM

WCID 19 Building

4618 Crane, Freddiesville

WEDNESDAY, Feb. 4th, 5 PM

Crenshaw Elementary School

416 Hwy. 87, Port Bolivar

THURSDAY, Feb. 5th, 5 PM

Jefferson County Courthouse

1001 Pearl, Beaumont
