Bolivar SUD Customers No Longer Required to Boil Water PDF Print E-mail

Effective February 28, 2009, customers of the Bolivar Peninsula Special Utility District are no longer required to boil water prior to consumption.  Sample results received from the Galveston County Health District laboratory indicate no harmful bacteria in the water supply.

Customers of the District have been under a boil water requirement since September 15, 2008 due to severe damage to the water system caused by Hurricane Ike.  Customers of the Bolivar Peninsula Special Utility District include residents of High Island, Gilchrist, Caplen, Crystal Beach and Port Bolivar.  Anyone with questions regarding the water supply should contact the District by calling 409-296-3475.
