The 2010 Texas Hurricane Conference will be held at the McAllen Convention Center in McAllen May 18 – 20.
More than 70 workshops, presentations and training sessions will cover a wide variety of topics related to hurricane response and recovery.
Topics include evacuation, sheltering, resource staging, re-entry operations, special needs populations, disaster communications, role of voluntary organizations, private sector support, mass care, planning for children in disasters, evacuation tracking, shelter hubs, hospital evacuations, managing mega-shelters, animals in disaster, role of 2-1-1- Texas, the State Hurricane Plan and much more.
