The Galveston County Commissioners Court has extended the application period for the buyout program until June 4, 2010.  The extension is only for properties located in the following areas:  The community of Gilchrist on Bolivar Peninsula; the beachfront on Bolivar Peninsula; and the unincorporated community of Freddiesville between Bayou Vista and Hitchcock.

Interested property owners in these communities who had homes that were substantially damaged by Hurricane Ike must download the Property Owners Handbook and complete pages 8-10.  The signed forms must be returned to the Galveston County Office of Emergency Management, 1353 FM 646 West, Suite 201, Dickinson, TX 77539, no later than June 4.  The forms also may be faxed to 888-534-5607.  Click here to download the Property Owners Handbook.  For more information, call the Buyout Hotline at 866-957-2325.
