Tropical Storm Alex Gains Strength PDF Print E-mail

At 8:00 am Tuesday, Tropical Storm Alex is very near hurricane strength.  The forecast track has changed little in the last twelve hours with anticipated landfall near the Texas/Mexico border.

A Coastal Flood Watch is in effect along the Texas coast from Matagorda Bay to the Louisiana state line and beyond. 

A Hurricane Warning is in effect for the coast of Texas south of Baffin Bay to the mouth of the Rio Grande and for the Mexico coast from the mouth of the Rio Grande to La Cruz.

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for the coast of Texas from Baffin Bay to Port O'Connor.

Galveston County officials will continue to monitor the storm's progress through conference calls with the State and the National Weather Service.
