Today Marks the Last Day of Hurricane Season 2011 PDF Print E-mail

Wednesday, November 30, 2011 - Today marks the end of an extremely active Atlantic Hurricane Season.  There were 19 named storms, 7 of which were hurricanes.  Galveston County residents were fortunately spared again this year despite the high level of activity.  It is important that residents prepare for each season the same – as if it will be a busy one for the Upper Texas Gulf Coast. The Galveston County Office of Emergency Management encourages you, your family, and businesses to establish a plan, be prepared and stay informed.
