Weather Warnings in Galveston County PDF Print E-mail

January 9, 2012 @12:00 pm - The National Weather Service in League City has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Galveston County until 2:00 pm CST.  At 11:05 AM, the National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated that slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall were approaching the warned area.  Rainfall amounts of two to five inches have been reported upstream with these storms.  Runoff from this excessive rainfall may cause flash flooding to occur on land adjacent to small creeks and bayous as well as frontage roads, highway underpasses, farm-to-market and other secondary roads may flood.  Avoid locations where water covers the ground.  Please report severe weather to the county sheriff's office, local police department or Department of Public Safety and ask them to relay your report to the National Weather Service.
