A gradual warming trend is anticipated today and will persist through the weekend with dangerous heat index values expected in many areas.

The combination of hot weather and humidity will lead to heat index values in the triple digits across portions of Southeast TX this afternoon through early evening. 

Heat will gradually worsen as the week progresses.
