Excessive heat continues to plague Southeast Texas, with a majority of the area remaining under warnings for this excessive heat. A small portion of yesterday's warning area has been able to be converted to a heat advisory, but this will temper the threat posed by this persistent stretch of near-record heat very little. In addition to the heat, thunderstorm chances sneak back into the picture for a couple of days, and there is a marginal threat (level 1 of 5) for severe storms to move in from the northwest overnight tonight.
