6-25 Heat Advisory

  • Dangerous heat will continue on Sunday. An Excessive Heat Warning is now in effect through 9 PM for most inland areas, and a Heat Advisory Remains in effect along the coast.
  • Heat index values may reach 113 or higher this afternoon.

The Heat Advisory in effect for today has been upgraded to an Excessive Heat Warning for most inland areas through 9 PM CDT (see map below). A Heat Advisory remains in effect along the immediate coast and for Burleson, Brazos, Madison, and Houston Counties. In locations under the Warning, heat index values are expected to approach or exceed 113 this afternoon. Heat will still be dangerous in areas covered by the Advisory, with heat index values of 108-112 possible. Additional Advisories/Warnings are expected throughout the course of next week as the hot pattern of late shows little signs of slowing down for the time being.
