Heat stroke is a life-threatening condition that occurs when the body can no longer control its temperature. It's more common in hot, humid weather.
Symptoms of heat stroke include:
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Headache
- Muscle cramps
- Hot, dry, red skin
- Confusion
- Seizures
- Loss of consciousness
- Body temperature above 103°F
- Rapid and strong pulse
- Fainting
Heat stroke is a severe medical emergency. If you think someone is having a heat stroke, call 911 or get them to a hospital immediately.
