 Fireworks can  be a fun way to celebrate our nation, but they can be dangerous. Stay safe this 4th by following these safety tips!

• Never allow children to play with fireworks
• Direct fireworks away from homes, people, and trees
• Never relight fireworks that have not fully ignited or "dud" fireworks
• Do not hold lit fireworks
• Never buy illegal fireworks, they can not only land you in trouble, but be dangerous or poorly made
• Do not use fireworks in the house

• 19% of firework injuries are to the face and ears, 11% are to the torso, and 10% to the legs
• More than 50% of injuries were burns
• 74% of people injured are male and only 26% are female
