With summer in full swing and high temperatures, you may want to hit the beach to beat the heat. Stay safe with these safety tips.

  • Monitor children at all times.
  • Wear sunscreen of at least 15 SPF or higher.
  • Swim with a buddy near lifeguard stations and be aware of rip currents. Click here to know what to do for rip currents.
  • Drink plenty of water and caffeine-free liquids.
  • Shuffle your feet in the water to avoid stingray barbs.
  • Treat jellyfish stings with sea water rinse, vinegar, and hydrocortisone. Do not use urine or fresh water.
