Dangerous heat is expected to continue throughout this week. Temperatures across most of SE TX will reach in excess of 100 degrees this afternoon, with some locations to the north of the Houston metro area reaching as high as 105. As a result, Excessive Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories will be in effect throughout SE TX today. Those planning to spend time outdoors are urged to take proper heat safety precautions. Dangerous heat is expected to persist for the remainder of the week and into the weekend, and as a result we anticipate the need for additional Advisories and/or Warnings in the coming days.
