Heat Advisory for August 10th

Dangerous heat continues throughout the region. With heat indices expected to reach or exceed 108 degrees across all of Southeast Texas, Heat Advisories will be warranted across the entire region until 10 PM Friday. Locations along/north of the I-10 corridor will be especially hot, with temperatures up to around 107 degrees and heat indices up to 114 degrees. Therefore, these areas will be under an Excessive Heat Warning until 10 PM Friday. Additional heat advisories and warnings will likely be needed through mid-next week as this dangerous heat continues. Those planning to spend time outdoors are urged to take proper heat safety precautions.

Bottom Line - Dangerous heat is expected to continue through mid-next week, with dry fuels bringing increased fire weather conditions across portions of Southeast Texas. Continue to monitor your trusted weather source, like the NWS Houston/Galveston.
