Energy-Saving Tips:
Heating System Maintenance: Schedule an annual inspection and tune-up by a qualified technician to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Furnace Filter Care: Regularly change or clean your furnace filter to maximize efficiency and prolong its lifespan.
Sealing Leaks: Keep warm air in and cold air out by using caulk or weather-stripping to seal leaks around doors, windows, and other openings.
Window Coverings: Close window coverings and blinds to insulate against the cold air outside.
Ceiling Fan Circulation: Use ceiling fans to circulate warm air by setting them to turn clockwise slowly.

Safety Tips - Natural Gas:
Space Heater Caution: Use space heaters with an automatic shut-off and keep them at least three feet away from children, pets, and other items.
Ventilation for Heaters: Vent natural gas, propane, or wood space heaters to the outside.
Alarm Testing: Regularly test carbon monoxide (CO) and smoke alarms, changing batteries as needed.
CO Poisoning Awareness: Be aware of signs of CO poisoning, and if suspected, leave the area immediately and call 911.
Natural Gas Leak: Report suspected natural gas leaks promptly by leaving the area and calling 911 and CenterPoint Energy at 713-659-2111 or 800-752-8036.
Safety Tips - Electric:
Generator Usage: Never use an electricity generator indoors; keep it outdoors away from doors, windows, and vents.
Downed Power Lines: Stay at least 35 feet away from downed power lines or fallen wires, assuming they are live and dangerous.
Emergency Reporting: If someone is being shocked by a power line, call 911 instead of attempting a rescue. Report downed power lines to 713-207-2222 or 800-332-7143.
