On Wednesday morning, a Unified Command and Joint Information Center were established in Galveston to coordinate the response and disseminate information regarding the Pelican Island Bridge Allision. The incident, which occurred at approximately 10 a.m., involved the barge MMLP 321, owned by Martin Marine, colliding with the Pelican Island Causeway due to a coupling failure.
