Weather Update from the Galveston County Office of Emergency Management:
Overnight Galveston County has received mostly sleet and rain, with further expected snowfall still totaling 4-6 inches in some areas. Overnight Galveston Island saw wind gusts up to 50mph and the mainland up to 30mph.
There will continue to be snowfall in Galveston County until Noon today, with a possibility of light snow through the afternoon.
Bridges and Overpasses are iced over, crews are continuously treating where necessary. Avoid driving today, conditions on the roadways are dangerous.
Expect a Hard Freeze tonight.
