The most recent forecasts from the @nwshouston show a slight increased chance of freezing rain accumulation. This will primarily impact roadways during the Sunday evening through Monday morning time period.

Today is the time to make final preparations on the 4P’s of winter preparedness before temperatures drop below freezing tomorrow during the day.

Pipes: Wrap and insulate pipes, especially exterior pipes and those on elevated structures.

People: Dress in warm layers when outdoors and check on elderly or vulnerable family members and neighbors.

Pets: If it’s too cold for people, it’s too cold for pets. Bring them indoors or ensure they have adequate warmth.

Plants: Bring plants indoors or cover them to protect from freezing temperatures.

Forecasts continue to change, and the Galveston County Office of Emergency Management will provide updates as they come available.
