There are many Christmas boat parades around Galveston County. While these events are extremely fun, it is important to remember to be safe on the water. Never operate a boat while under the influence, inspect your boat before going out, and always make sure everyone has a personal floatation device.

What can you do?

• Take a boater education course.
• Know boating laws.
• Assign a lookout for other boats, floating debris, and shallow waters.
